If you were ever considering a Fall Colorado Mountain wedding stop considering and DO IT! Our first staged shoot was designed to be a simple Bride & Groom table. We wanted to highlight all the beauty that just a background can create for a wedding! We are fortunate to own a teepee that we have used for events and really wanted to feature this in the shoot. We love the idea of a romantic table that featured warm fall colors to play against the bright fall colors in the trees!
When designing a wedding or in this case a shoot the first steps really are to find a color palette you want to work with. Most wedding planners can help create a design board with you. Another great resource is Pinterest. We encourage all of our couples that are not sure how they want their wedding to look, to go start pinning ideas. Most of the time when we look at the boards, the pins will tell a story of what speaks to the couple and the design process then begins to start to come together. We started pinning and the creative juices started flowing.
We really focused on table decor for this shoot and keeping the elements around that the beautiful Fall colors and mountain backdrop. We had so much fun with La Tavola Linen in their design room. Here we were able to play with textures and colors to really get a visual of how we wanted the table to come together. This is an experience that is fun and we try to encourage all of our couples to come along for these appointments and see all the options they were considering but also see items they maybe never knew were an option. We designed two table options and were really pleased with both. The sage green was questionable until we actually staged the table. The green worked magically with the greens of the trees and bright yellows.
We partnered with some great friendors to bring all the pieces together. One of the best ways to dress a table is with place cards and menus. These can really help bring the elements of design together. We worked with Kate from Skelley West Design Co. to complete the table. We love the idea of bringing invitations, place cards, dinner menus and drink menus into an event. The guests get a feel of the wedding from an invitation. Carrying those design details into the event bring it all together in a way that just makes sense.
To carry the design out we wanted to stick with neutral colors and soft greenery to add to the table. We sent out design board over to Botanicals Floral Art and they design some really beautiful pieces that played into the beautiful colors. If you are doing a teepee you almost have to have pampas grass. We love this season of pampas grass it creates such a fun element to the design without making it too busy!
All and all we were pleased with this romantic, Fall shoot! The colors and textures worked great together and the scenery was breathtaking. Picture really cannot do justice to the Colorado colors! The best part for us when planning a staged shoot, is working with great vendors. We had a great team on this shoot and I cannot thank them enough for being part of the first of many, staged photo shoot. A special thanks to Rich Faiva Photography for flying into Colorado from Arizona to help capture these awesome images!
Thanks for your blog, nice to read. Do not stop.
